9/11 Truth Movement: Congressman Curt Weldon “8th Initiative”
https://ift.tt/P1a79ZK
In response to an article authored by retired Fire Captain Raul Angulo for the International Fire & Safety Journal, which discussed the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7, former Congressman Curt Weldon sought to engage with Angulo to establish a connection with individuals within the 9/11 Truth Movement who could offer scientific evidence that challenges the official account of the events. Congressman Weldon was invited to participate in the 9/11 WarRoom podcast, hosted by Sandra and Gene Laratonda, to reveal what he calls his “8th Initiative,” a proposal for the upcoming Trump administration that suggests the creation of an independent task force, to reexamine the events of 9/11 and challenge the official 9/11 commission report and its findings.
Numerous organizations dedicated to the investigation of the events surrounding September 11, 2001, joined the podcast, including Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, RichardGage911, the International Center for 9/11 Justice, Boston 9/11 Truth, Colorado 9/11 Truth (which features an expert psychologist), and the Protecting All Protectors Alliance.
For many years, Congressman Curt Weldon, unlike the majority of politicians in Washington D.C., has harbored scepticism regarding the conclusions drawn from the 9/11 Commission Report on the collapse of World Trade Center (WTC) Buildings 1, 2, and 7. This scepticism is particularly informed by his understanding of “Operation Able Danger.”
Congressman Weldon served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1987 to 2007, where he held key roles as Vice Chair of the Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees.
The 9/11 WarRoom: Special Guest Congressman Curt Weldon
Congressman Curt Weldon joins the 9/11 WarRoom: A Recap and Call to Action
The 164th episode of the 9/11 WarRoom, which took place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, featured a very special guest: Former US Congressman Curt Weldon.
The podcast, which I host together with Gene Laratonda, is usually a gathering — indeed, the only one of its kind in the 9/11 Truth Movement — that welcomes advocates from anywhere in the world to join in, receive updates on 9/11 news, and discuss activism strategies every Sunday at 5:00 PM ET.
But on Sunday, January 5th, the 9/11 WarRoom took on a slightly different format.
Prompted by the article written by retired Fire Captain Raul Angulo for the International Fire & Safety Journal regarding the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7, Congressman Weldon reached out to Angulo, looking to connect with those in the 9/11 Truth Movement who could provide the scientific evidence that contradicts the official narrative.
Weldon himself had been suspicious of said narrative for many years, given what he already knew about Operation Able Danger. His experience as a fire chief added fuel to the fire — pun intended — as he began to look at the discrepancies in the reports issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology regarding the collapse of WTC Buildings 1, 2, and 7.
Angulo then approached Gene and me, and we offered Weldon the 9/11 WarRoom platform as a way to not only “meet the team” but to present what he calls his “8th initiative.” The first seven initiatives are focused solely on helping the fire service across the US, but his 8th is a request for the incoming Trump administration to form an independent presidential task force, free of any politicians and bureaucrats, to reinvestigate 9/11.
Weldon’s passion was contagious. The excitement in the 9/11 WarRoom was palpable. “Hope” is a word many 9/11 advocates use very cautiously, but on this occasion, they came pretty close to feeling genuinely hopeful.
Upon learning that Weldon would be there, many longtime and well-known truth advocates turned out. They came from several active 9/11 organizations, including Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, RichardGage911, the International Center for 9/11 Justice, Boston 9/11 Truth, Colorado 9/11 Truth (with its expert psychologist), and the Protecting All Protectors Alliance. The latter is the firefighter-driven group whose efforts led to Weldon finding Angulo’s article in the International Fire & Safety Journal.
Bob and Helen McIlvaine, parents of Bobby McIlvaine, a 26-year-old who died that day, were special guests. The McIlvaines’ persistence and yearning for truth reminded everyone present of why we continue to fight.
Weldon, who served in the US House of Representatives from 1987 to 2007, made his intentions very clear. He offered his insights on national security, the government’s inadequate 9/11 investigations, and his commitment to uncovering the truth about the events surrounding September 11, 2001:
I know that there were lies and distortions of the intelligence before 9/11 and a cover-up of what happened afterwards. I am not an expert on the buildings, and that’s why I reached out to learn from you all about the building perspective, what occurred, what we should know. [. . .] The power of this group of people that I want to unleash for you is the power that will let us solve the problems of those families that lost their loved ones in 9/11. [. . .] I’m going to guarantee it. If it’s the last thing I do, until I take my last breath, we’re not going to end this battle until we win.
The discussion highlighted the pivotal role of firefighters in the 9/11 Truth Movement. Weldon and other speakers emphasized the fire service’s unparalleled trustworthiness and its potential influence in raising awareness and demanding accountability. Together, the speakers outlined plans to build momentum for a new investigation by leveraging the influence of the firefighting community.
ACLU founder Roger Nash Baldwin’s famous quote — “Silence never won any rights. They are not handed down from above; they are forced by pressures from below” — seems especially apropos.
The firefighting profession remains the single, universally most respected and trusted profession in the world. While many firefighters have been reluctant to speak out — either out of respect for their fallen brothers or from the trauma surrounding that fatal day — our hope is that the firefighting leadership will lead by example and, in so doing, give firefighters everywhere the tacit green light to become outspoken in demanding accountability, transparency, justice and truth. We can’t think of anything more honorable and more befitting than a firefighter.
The 343 men and women of the New York Fire Department who died that day; the thousands more who fell sick in the aftermath of 9/11; all of the other World Trade Center victims and their families; and those who have been fighting for the truth on their behalf for the past many years all deserve this singular, once-in-a-lifetime chance for justice to be done.
United we stand. Together, we can make the seemingly impossible a tangible reality. Join us in the 9/11 WarRoom every Sunday as we continue to connect and strategize around this next chapter in the fight for 9/11 Justice.
