The platform allows anyone to easily create SOL/USD meme-tokens without coding skills. It also offered users the chance to live-stream the process.
However, some live streams were reported to feature harmful and violent behavior, sparking a call for action.
Pump.fun Pauses Live-Streaming to Improve Safety
“We acknowledge that recent events on our platform’s live streams have caused concern,” said Pump.Fun in a statement. The platform admitted that some users had unsettling experiences and took responsibility for the situation. In response, Pump.Fun announced it would pause live streaming indefinitely. This is until it could improve its moderation system to better handle the increased activity.
Though the live-stream feature has been removed, users can still create and trade meme coins on Pump.Fun. But, without the live-stream option. The platform assured users that it is working on upgrading its system to ensure a safer experience in the future.
