‘Drag Queens for Kamala’ Release Music Video Supporting Her Campaign for President

[Collection]Contract WriterNot only drag queens, but a large swath of the 'LGBTQIAAP2S+ community' celebrates the Biden-Harris administration for having been 'the most pro-LGBTQIAAP2S+ administration in history.'

(LifeSiteNews) — Drag queens have disseminated a “music video” in which they campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and promote identity politics, called “Drag Queens for Kamala.”

“She’ll get bills passed in Congress that’ll protect me and you,” one of the drag queens sings. “Black, white, Latino, or LGBTQ,” another adds, in their rendition of Peggy Lee’s jazz single “I’m a Woman.”

They celebrate in anticipation that Harris will “Kee(p) us safe from harm without building a wall, ‘cause she’s a woman,” seemingly unaware of the irony of their statement in light of the dangers to U.S. security posed by her refusal to secure the southern border as well as considering Harris’ support of Ukraine in its war with Russia, even as it threatens to drag the U.S. into a wider world war.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro took aim at the campaign music video as well as the identity politics it celebrates Harris for embracing.

“There is something weird about dividing the American population by race, ethnicity, gender — that’s exactly what the Kamala Harris campaign is doing,” Shapiro said on his Daily Wire show, going on to note that the campaign has “rolled out a series of Zoom calls specifically designed by intersectional characteristic.” For example, over 160,000 joined the “White Women for Kamala Harris” Zoom call, according to Reuters, called “Karens for Kamala.”

Conservatives have long argued that forms of identity politics — such as DEI policies that have been pushed by the Biden administration — stoke rather than cure division, unfairly promote certain groups at the expense of others, and even harm organizational functioning by prioritizing “identity” over competence.

Shapiro also highlighted the fact that Harris, in part because of her radical pro-LGBT stance, is opposed to traditional family values.

“We are supposed to be not only apathetic, but somewhat disdainful of religion, Christianity, traditional family. That is real about Kamala Harris. … the only issue that really matters is that Kamala identifies with one side of this political divide. And that does have major ramifications for the future of society,” Shapiro said.

While Harris has not promoted the “Drag Queens for Kamala” video, she recently aligned herself with drag queens and signaled her support for the LGBTQ community by launching her campaign on Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars in a video clip shared on X.

After President Joe Biden’s announcement Tuesday night that he would not seek reelection, more than 1,100 pro-LGBT political leaders, Hollywood celebrities, and social media influencers reportedly signed a letter announcing their support for Harris’ White House bid.  The full list of signatories has not yet been published.

“As advocates, elected officials, organizations, and community leaders serving millions of LGBTQ+ Americans and our allies across the country, we urge you to join us in this historic moment to advance equality by supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign for President,” the letter begins.

“Vice President Kamala Harris is a galvanizing trailblazer and has been a champion for LGBTQ+ equality for decades: leading the fight in San Francisco against hate crimes, working to end the so-called gay and transgender ‘panic defense’ in California, and, as an early supporter of marriage equality, refusing to defend the unconstitutional Proposition 8.”

The letter cites Harris as a champion for the Equality Act and the Respect for Marriage Act and identifies the “Biden-Harris Administration has been the most pro-LGBTQ+ administration in history.”
