Three illegal aliens convicted or charged with heinous sex crimes against children were arrested over the span of a week by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in southern New England.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents with the Boston field office apprehended suspected child sex predators from Guatemala, Bangladesh, and the Dominican Republic between April 15 and 22, according to information released this week.

•  On April 15, a 37-year-old Dominican male was caught by deportation officers in Providence, Rhode Island.

Authorities say he illegally entered the U.S. at an unknown location and time before being arrested on Nov. 4, 2023, by police in Providence and charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation, one count of second-degree child molestation, and one count of first-degree sexual assault.

“The unlawfully present Dominican national posted bail and was released by the Rhode Island Department of Corrections on Nov. 16, 2023,” ICE explained in a press release.

He remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

• On April 17, a 55-year-old Guatemalan male was caught by deportation officers in Providence, Rhode Island.

He illegally entered the U.S. at an unknown location sometime in 2008 and remained in the country since.

On Aug. 6, 2018, he was arrested by Providence police for first-degree child molestation/sexual assault and ERO Boston immediately lodged an immigration detainer against him with the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institute.

“On Dec. 12, 2022, the Guatemalan native was convicted of first-degree child molestation/sexual assault in Providence Superior Court. He was sentenced to 25 years of incarceration, which was reduced to six years with 19 years suspended,” ICE explained in a press release.

On April 17, 2024, the Guatemalan was released after serving a six-year sentence and deportation officers immediately took him into ICE custody, where he remains pending removal proceedings.

•  On April 22, a 47-year-old Bangladeshi male was caught by deportation officers in Litchfield, Connecticut.

“On Oct. 12, 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection admitted the Bangladeshi citizen into the United States for the purpose of transiting through the country. He violated the terms of his admittance when he remained in the United States beyond Nov. 9, 2017,” ICE explained in a press release.

In early April of this year, the Bangladeshi was arrested by Connecticut State Police and charged with multiple counts of commercial sex abuse, illegal sexual contact with a minor, fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to child and illegal sale of tobacco to a person under 21 years of age.

ICE lodged an immigration detainer against him on April 20 and apprehended him on April 22.

He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S.
