Sky News host Chris Kenny says there are “only two factors” worth looking at in the new budget. Mr Kenny said the amount Labor will spend on the budget should be analysed – as should the energy futures predicted by the government. “We can't afford new spending, we can't afford what we've got already – and so far, Labor's promise to increase real wages and bring down electricity prices are two very sick jokes,” he said. “There will be more spending on renewable energy, and that's the very spending that’s produced our energy crisis.”
