(Natural News) Conservative activist, pro-life advocate, author and former Republican state representative Alveda King spoke with Dr. John Diamond regarding the importance of civil disobedience – especially when confronted with Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic-related restrictions and abortion.
King, niece of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., appeared as guest during the Nov. 26 episode of the Diamond’s program “America Unhinged” on Brighteon.TV. (Related: Theologians: Patriot movement must also be a Christian revival movement – Brighteon.TV.)
She related a story to Diamond about an event she was supposed to attend the night before her interview. The event required her to take a COVID-19 test.
While King did get tested for the virus, she refused to go into the event because of the way the event organizers wanted to dictate how the attendees should live their lives.
“No, COVID doesn’t get to run my life tonight,” she said. “So I stayed in the car and waved at the people when they went in and waved at the people when they came out. I said ‘I’m just not gonna let COVID dictate my life.'”
When resisting COVID-19 restrictions, King advised people to be civil and nonviolent about their opposition to them.
“Just think of our motives. We don’t want to be mad with people or calling people stupid, or dumb, or idiots and all of that. But we do need [to get] this message out that this is still America, we’re still free. So we need to be able to make some decisions about our own lives and our own health. And so I think that message is very, very important,” she said.
King advised people to take a similar attitude regarding the experimental and deadly COVID-19 vaccines.
“My mother has taken the shot and the booster and all of that, and she gave me her rationales,” she said. “I [told her], ‘Hey Ma, you’re 90 years old, you could decide. But don’t look at me like there’s something wrong with me if I decide not to take the jab, you see.'”
“I said, ‘Mom, no, we’re not gonna be angry with each other. We’re not gonna argue,'” she continued. “So I can present the facts, put them out there. Everybody gives me their facts and their reasons. And then I just keep praying.”
Civil disobedience an important tool in fight against abortion
The ongoing battle against abortion was also raised during the program. Diamond pointed out that the American left has weaponized the slogan “my body, my choice” as a way of justifying abortions for decades.
“But it’s not okay when it comes to a jab,” said Diamond.
“I refuse to take the language of the left, or the strategies or the framework,” said King. “If they call something a choice, especially if abortion is a choice, I say ‘No, abortion kills the baby. I’m not accepting your language. It kills a baby. It violates the civil rights of a baby.’ And I never move off of that and begin to discuss why we should or shouldn’t have a choice.”
King recently led a nationwide rally to pray for the Supreme Court to rule on the side of life in an upcoming abortion case. This rally consisted of Christians of all denominations, races and political affiliations.
“The Supreme Court will decide whether to uphold the Texas Heartbeat Act and allow generations of Texan babies to be protected from the evil of abortion,” she wrote in an opinion piece published before the nationwide prayer rally.
The case the Supreme Court will hear is known as the Dobbs case. Known formally as “Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” is a case testing the constitutionality of Mississippi’s 2018 law banning abortions after 15 weeks.
“On Dec. 1, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the Dobbs Case and will choose whether to finally overthrow Roe v. Wade. Yes, life is at risk today – from the womb to the tomb,” wrote King. “Let us remember today that we must recognize and celebrate the dignity of all humans. As human dignity is elevated, and we begin to understand that there is a critical race – the one blood, human race – we will begin to see the hate and violence in our nation subside.”
