One food program in Portland, the Northeast Emergency Food Program, has paired with local comic book store, Excalibur Comics, to give kids free comic books with their meal boxes. The program, Comics for Kids, was started as a partnership thanks to Justin Zimmerman, a Portland graphic novel artist.
