For those of you who don't know, Quartz was the magazine/newspaper that made the article saying that the media shouldn't report on the Macron leaks for democracy's sake. Full article here
As I look at the reaction to that article, a possibility of a motive to that article hit me, maybe the article was meant to draw as much attention to the leaks as humanly possible, so it doesn't get quickly covered up like the Clinton leaks by dismissing it as "just a Russian conspiracy."(resulting in Trump looking bad as a result of exposing Clinton's lies and corruption)
Lets take a look at what they would be doing if this was pro-Le Pen, basically, it keeps it simple, lies spread so quickly and work so well because they are simple. So, what if you could twist that and make the leaks look as damning as possible? Implying in your article that: "these leaks are so bad, that just reading a summary would instantly make you vote for Le Pen. There is no way to hide it, if this got out then Macron would never recover." So, the French people's ears perk up, they become curious. Which is act 2 of their little scheme.
Russia is a known entity, its old news and people aren't nearly as interested anymore, but the leaks, so little is known, but it sounds so interesting. It's like putting your 10 year old's unwanted toys in a bag and pretending like they are the newest and most interesting things in existence, but he just can't see them. Obviously, he is going to do anything he can to take a look.
Now, what the liberal left tried to write off as a Russian conspiracy and something to be ignored have become the most interesting thing in the world, and the only thing most French citizens know about the leaks is that a. it is something Macron did, and b. it will undeniably keep him from ever being elected.
Is there any possible support? I did some "research" in which I looked up the the authors, Kevin Delaney's and Gideon Lichfield's most recent articles and none of them seem too SJW. Kevin even has one article that criticizes how many H-1B visas they are, possibly due to a belief that American jobs should go to Americans.
Of course, this is all just guesses on my part, but the possibility is not entirely baseless.
