Description: UPDATE: Dep AG Says DID NOT Threaten To Quit... by Sinclair Broadcast Group Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Thursday May 11 2017 that he's not quitting nor did he threaten to quit over his role in the firing of FBI Director James Comey. (Sinclair Broadcast Group) WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said he's not quitting nor did he threaten to quit over his role in the firing of FBI Director James Comey. When asked by Sinclair Broadcast Group's Michelle Macaluso about reports that claim otherwise he stated "no I'm not quitting." Macaluso: Did you threaten to quit? Rosenstein: No. The Washington Post reported Wednesday night that "Rosenstein threatened to resign after the narrative emerging from the White House on Tuesday evening cast him as a prime mover of the decision to fire Comey" citing an unnamed source close to the White House. Other reporters on Capitol Hill also stated he was upset at the administration over the matter. In a Senate Intelligence Hearing Thursday the acting FBI director testified the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was "highly significant" contradicting the administration's view that it was one of the "smallest things" the FBI has "got going on their plate." In a previously recorded interview with NBC News' Lester Holt President Trump said he was going to fire Comey anyway. "He's a showboat he's a grandstander the FBI has been in turmoil. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that."
